Tahir Merali is CEO of Escape Velocity Services Inc. providing project management and strategic guidance to small and medium-sized businesses across aerospace, energy, government, and consulting sectors. He is also an experienced Project Manager, Infrastructure with the YYC Calgary Airport Authority, and previously Program and Project Manager, Innovation with the City of Calgary.
Mr. Merali is the Principal at Celestial Growth Corp. and Co-Founder of the Zenith Canada Pathways Foundation. He has also held executive leadership roles at a space technology start-up.
Over the past decades, Mr. Merali has served as a Project Management Engineer with the Canadian Space Agency‘s (CSA) Enterprise Project Management Office implementing project governance, supporting long-term space strategy, and performing systems engineering activities related to the Lunar Gateway and Canadarm3 programs.
His work experience gave him the opportunity to visit several countries. He offers unique perspectives having spent nearly 20 minutes in microgravity aboard a parabolic flight and has co-developed 2 microgravity life-science experiments flown aboard the International Space Station.
Tahir Merali holds an M.Sc in Space Management (International Space University), and a B.A.Sc Mechanical Engineering (University of Toronto) and is a licensed professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
