3RD Annual pOWERFUL you! luncheon

On May 1, 2025, Making Changes Association welcomed Calgary business leaders and community members who came together for an extravagant luncheon with fellow female leaders for a candid conversation. Funds raised directly impacted the 3,000+ women and teen girls supported through programs such as Dress for Success Calgary, Women in Technology (WIT), My Best Friend’s Closet, and Basic Digital Skills for Women.

The theme for Powerful You! 2025 was “Making Changes to Accelerate Action.” The United Nation’s campaign for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, “Accelerate Action,” was built around the shocking statistic that at the current rate of progress, it would take until 2158 – roughly five generations from now – to reach full gender parity. This critical conversation extended well beyond IWD. 

Panelists shared their professional journeys, discussed how the current political climate was impacting work on diversity and inclusion, and explored strategies and actions available for those committed to #AccelerateAction.
