In Her Words
not your average panel discussion
On September 24, 2025, we hosted a compelling and dynamic conversation featuring powerhouse women from diverse industries, who shared their personal journeys and experiences. The evening brought together inspiring stories and valuable insights, with a lively Q&A session that covered everything from the expected to the unexpected, leaving the audience motivated and engaged.
Making Changes Association hosted an evening of insight, empowerment, and connection in support of advancing women’s financial independence in Calgary. Unlike a typical panel or networking mixer, the event fostered authentic conversations and meaningful connections, moving away from stiff interactions and awkward silences. A powerhouse lineup of exceptional women who have broken the mold in traditionally male-dominated industries came together to share their stories, challenges, and wins — not at the audience, but with them.
real conversations, honest insights, and inspiring moments
After the panel, attendees participated in dynamic, speed networking-style breakout sessions, rotating through small, intimate groups with the panelists and fellow participants. This created a relaxed and friendly space where meaningful connections could truly happen. Many brought their curiosity, questions, and even friends — while others came solo and left with a new network of allies. It was an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow in a fresh, engaging environment that made networking feel less like a chore and more like an exciting experience.

The Paper Crane
Signature Cocktail by Matt Berry
We were thrilled to welcome Calgary’s beloved mixologist, Matt Berry, who crafted a one-of-a-kind cocktail exclusively for the event — The Paper Crane. A creative twist on the classic Paper Plane, this cocktail was inspired by MCA’s symbol of hope and resilience. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy this handcrafted drink as a special add-on experience during the evening.
