Amrita Sanjay,
WIT Program Graduate (Spring 2025)
When I moved to Canada in 2023, I had strong qualifications and experience, yet I spent almost two and a half years sending out resumes without a single callback. Discovering the Women in Technology (WIT) program at Making Changes Association changed everything for me.
The Employment Power Skills sessions taught by Shalzah, Luckshinie, and Adrienne helped me understand how the Canadian job market truly works—how to communicate, collaborate, and present myself with confidence.
Those lessons are something I use every day in my role. The technical training from Femi and Nageeb transformed the way I approach problems. Femi’s clarity and patience made even the toughest concepts feel achievable, and Nageeb’s practical interview guidance played a huge role in helping me succeed.
There were challenges along the way—including losing access to a laptop early in the program. The team immediately provided one, no questions asked, so I could continue learning. That support meant more than I can express.
Because of the WIT program and Making Changes, I finally began receiving interview calls after years of silence. Through the WIT program, I secured an internship as an AI Engineer at Suncor, and that internship later transitioned into a full-time role that aligns perfectly with my long-term goals.
This program didn’t just give me skills. It gave me direction, confidence, and a community that believed in me. I will always be grateful to the entire team for helping my career finally find its path.
