Welcome Cathy Coutts

The Board of Directors of Making Changes Association is pleased to announce that Cathy Coutts has joined the organization as the Executive Director, effective January 18th, 2016.

Cathy brings a wealth of experience, expertise and dynamic leadership skills to her new role. Most recently, Cathy held the position of Executive Director at the Women in Need Society where she was responsible for the leadership, strategic planning and delivery of social programs. These programs focused on providing women with the resources, knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve self-sufficiency. Prior to that, she not only had a 30-year career at the Royal Bank of Canada where she worked in a variety of management and operational capacities, but also consistently volunteered with a number of organizations.

We are excited about the passion for community, energy, and skill set that Cathy brings to Making Changes.

Employment and Life Skills Program – Registration Now Open

We are currently recruiting for our next Making Changes Employment and Life Skills Program. If you are an immigrant woman, with permanent resident or refugee status, please click here for more information about this life changing program.

The program will be offered with free childcare at

1000 Voices at the Genesis Centre of Community Wellness

7555 Falconridge Boulevard NE, Calgary, T3J 0C9 (Saddletowne station)

Mondays, February 8 – March 28 (every Monday for 7 weeks, no class February 15)

TIME: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (Bring your lunch)

Agents of Change

Thinking of making a move that will make a difference? Making Changes is thrilled to be one of the agency partners at Agents of Change. Agents of Change provides the means for our supporters to ensure that when they buy or sell real estate, they work with a talented, socially conscious real estate professional who directs 20% of the real estate commission back to Making Changes. Our Programs

The Walk-In Closet's mandate is to empower women by providing knowledge and a selection of work attire for their transition into the workplace.

My Best Friend's Closet provides teenage girls from low-income homes (ages 12-18) with a broad selection of fashionable and functional clothing to meet their back to school and recreational needs.

You can drop off your donations for the Walk-In Closet and My Best Friend's Closet at Making Changes, 6516 1A St. SW on the following days:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am – 4 pm.

On select Saturdays also from 10 am – 4 pm.

No appointment necessary for donation drop off on these days.
