What is the Knickers for a Claus Campaign?

Every year, at Making Changes we provide complete outfits to over 2,000 women and teenage girls going through life transition. We dress them from “head to toe” and “inside out” and that includes providing them with undergarments. Since we cannot accept donations of used undergarments, we currently have to purchase a lot of new undergarments.

From now until December 24th, we are running a Holiday Campaign called  “Knickers for a Claus” where we are collecting donations of new undergarments so each of our program participants can feel confident and dignified.

How can Calgarians participate in Knickers for a Claus Campaign?

Calgarians can donate the following new items in all shapes and sizes, from petite to plus sizes:

  • bras
  • Underwear
  • Panty hose; and
  • socks

We also accept cash donations and gift cards from retailers that sell these items.

Where and when can you make a donation?

Donations of undergarments as well as cash and gift cards donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

Making Changes Association ( 6516 1A Street SW) between 10 am and 4 pm on the following days:

  • Every Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until December 17th
  • On Saturday November 21, November 28, December 5 and December 12

At the Core Shopping Centre, where Making Changes will be offering complimentary Holiday gift wrapping on the 3rd floor near guest services:

  • From November 26 to November 29
  • From December 6 to December 24

Cash donations can also be made directly on our website through our “Donate Now” button at the top of the home page.

Please note that we accept donations of new undergarments year-round.

We would like to take everyone who will be making a donation to our campaign this year. We appreciate your generosity!

We will be needing volunteers for our bingo this Fall. These fundraisers provide an important source of funding for Making Changes. Volunteering at bingos is a great way for people to support our organization and to meet other great people.  If you are interested in helping us out, please contact Patti at
