What We Do

Program Criteria

Walk-In Closet participants can be referred by community serving agencies, pre-employment training programs or educational institutions in Calgary and the surrounding area. Participants may self refer if they meet the appropriate criteria.

Participants must be experiencing financial barriers and in need of appropriate clothing  for interviews, new jobs, their current workplace, school or volunteer work.

Referral Process

Email  or phone 403-262-5776 ext.1
Please provide referring agency name, referring staff name and the name of the participant.
Have the participant phone us directly to book an appointment time.
The agency may book an appointment on the participants behalf if it is for a large group or if the participant is unable to book independently.

The Employment and Life Skills Program assists immigrant women in establishing more meaningful lives in their new society through career planning, information sharing, networking, job search skills and assertiveness training.

My Best Friend's Closet provides teenage girls from low-income homes (ages 12-18) with a broad selection of fashionable and functional clothing to meet their back to school and recreational needs.

You can drop off your donations for the Walk-In Closet and My Best Friend's Closet at Making Changes, 6516 1A St. SW on the following days:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am – 4 pm.

On select Saturdays also from 10 am – 4 pm.

No appointment necessary for donation drop off on these days.
