A LOCAL LIFESTYLE EVENT
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Making Changes Association. We are hosting this inaugural YYC-Chic fundraiser to celebrate and to support Making Changes in the delivery of our programs. This exciting event will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Civic on Third (130 3 Ave SE, Calgary, AB).
EMPLOYMENT AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
We will be offering our next session of the Making Changes Employment and Life Skills Program starting Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Registration will start on September 6, 2016.
PLACE: 1000 Voices at the Genesis Centre of Community Wellness – 7555 Falconridge Boulevard NE
REQUIREMENTS: Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee
Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark 3
CLASSES BEGIN: October 19 – November 23, 2016; every Wednesday for 7 weeks
TIME: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (Bring your lunch)

Making Changes is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to participate in Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink .
If you are wondering how to make your donation dollars go farther in supporting Making Changes consider donating now through Birdies for Kids. Thanks to their matching program, not only will Making Changes receive 100% of every donation collected on our behalf but we will also receive extra funding of up to 50% of our collected donations.
Birdies for Kids is a fundraising program designed to give charities an opportunity to generate contributions through flat donations or based on the number of “birdies” made by PGA TOUR Champions players during the Shaw Charity Classic.
The Birdies for Kids campaign runs until September 4th. To make a donation, simply follow this link and your donation will automatically be directed to Making Changes. You can also make a donation by filling out a pledge form available at our office.
All funds collected will help support My Best Friend’s Closet.
MAKING CHANGES WINE SURVIVOR
THANK YOU followed by a huge WOW!!!
We would like to thank everyone so very much for participating in the Making Changes 1st Annual Wine Survivor fundraiser. When we first started out our goal was to engage 50 teams or 300 people. However as you all know we achieved 76 teams for 456 bottles of wine on the table.
We had 312 individuals who asked us to purchase the wine on their behalf, which we were very happy to do. We are extremely excited to announce that JP Sandhu, the Managing Director of CSN WINES & SPIRITS donated all 312 bottles of wine to Making Changes. His donation totally exceeded our expectations and had a significant impact on our fund raising results. We are extremely grateful for his generous donation and would encourage everyone to frequent his shop for your wine and spirits needs. And the WINNERS are:
In First place, team #50, better known as Tanya’s Team #4, won 247 bottles of wine. Congratulations Jeff, Janice, Jill, Jane, Jordan and Carrie!
In Second place, the team of Wine, Women and Song won 135 bottles of wine. Congratulations Tanis, Jenny, Karen, Michelle, Melissa and Stephanie!
In Third place – a total of 45 bottles of wine went to Team #60, better known as Jaime team #1. Congratulations Jaime, Melanie, Sheila, Abigail, Susan and Susan!
The Fourth place prize for a total of 23 bottles of wine went to the Book Club. Congratulations to Heather, Mary, Robin, Cynthia, Patti and Dixie!
The first team to be eliminated for a total of 6 bottles of wine went to team # 56. Congratulationsto Shayla, Deb, Heather, Eve, Elle and Patricia!
Congratulations to each of the team and thank you to everyone for your participation and support! It has truly been fun, amazing and exceeded all our expectations.

2014 – 2015 Annual Report
We will be needing volunteers for our bingos in 2016. These fundraisers provide an important source of funding for Making Changes. Volunteering at bingos is a great way for people to support our organization and to meet other great people.
